The National Trust had the challenge of controlling its footfall into its numerous attractions, but at the same time boosting visitor numbers – we love finding a solution!

Working closely with one of our most trusted design agencies, ideas were generated  to create a ticket that offered control over foot fall, yet permitted a boost in visitor numbers. Print is our business and knowing how an idea will translate once printed, helped us to steer the design.

Chartwell House was the test ticket. 12 designs of tickets, each with multiple time slots throughout each day meant the creation of nearly 200,000 tickets. This allowed Chartwell House to avoid bottlenecks within the property at peak times, thus ensuring a constant flow of visitors which offered a massive boost to numbers.

This initial ticket concept was so successful it was then replicated and rolled out across all National Trust properties in the UK.
